Miami attorney Melanie Emmons Damian, a partner with the law firm of Damian & Valori LLP, was recently reappointed Chair of the Women Business and Commercial Advocates Committee, a subcommittee of the Business & Corporate Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Section.
Ms. Damian’s term officially begins on August 1, 2009. The Women Business and Commercial Advocates is one of the fastest-growing committees and provides a venue for women business litigators to network with one another and learn from prominent women business lawyers and judges. The committee seeks to increase the number of women who practice in business and commercial litigation by providing mentoring and programming geared toward women business advocates. At each annual meeting, the subcommittee hosts a program or reception recognizing and celebrating the accomplishment of women in the profession and particularly the judiciary.
