Brett J. Novick joined Damian | Valori | Culmo as a seasoned attorney focusing primarily on commercial, real estate, and business litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, ranging in scope from local to multinational. His experience also includes admiralty, large multidistrict litigation, nursing home litigation, and medical malpractice.

Mr. Novick earned his B.A. in Philosophy with departmental honors from Ithaca College in 2010. He graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 2013, where he served as an Articles and Comments Editor for the University of Miami Law Review, earned Dean’s List honors, received the Book Award in Elements of Law, and was inducted into the Phi Delta Phi honors fraternity.

While in law school, Mr. Novick interned in the Economic Crimes Division of the Florida Office of the Attorney General, contributing to class action lawsuits addressing fraud, deceptive practices, and consumer protection violations. After graduation, he clerked for the Honorable Milton Hirsch in the Circuit Court for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, presented a Continuing Judicial Education lecture to circuit judges, and helped design Continuing Legal Education curricula for public defenders and state attorneys.

Prior to joining Damian | Valori | Culmo, Mr. Novick practiced at two boutique Miami firms, gaining extensive experience in commercial and real estate litigation, including claims involving punitive damages, fraud, tortious interference, legal malpractice, and defamation.

Mr. Novick is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida and Southern District of Florida.
