Re-Elect Allison J. Leonard for Miami-Dade FAWL Board of Directors
Ms. Leonard’s Candidate Statement:
I am honored to submit my name for reelection to MDFAWL’s 2018-2019 Board of Directors. I am a long-time member of MDFAWL and currently co-chair MDFAWL’s Public Relations Committee, responsible for, among other things, designing and distributing the weekly MDFAWL Friday emails. I am committed to furthering the mission of MDFAWL – to promote personal and professional development of women. I am also a beneficiary. Indeed, it was through an MDFAWL Table-for-Eight several years ago that I was presented with the opportunity to first-chair my first trial. Since then, I have become a mentor for young women lawyers and coach for the mock trial team at my alma mater, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy. This year, I also worked on the MDFAWL Annual Trial Skills workshop led by Judge Diane Ward.
MDFAWL’s work in the community in spearheading women’s initiatives and providing opportunities for women to sharpen their legal skills, is important work. I’d like to contribute to and expand upon that work by continuing to be a part of the leadership of MDFAWL. I appreciate your consideration and your vote.
I am a litigator at Damian & Valori, LLP where I practice complex business litigation, receivership and securities litigation, and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights. I also represent businesses in employment-related claims. I serve on the Florida Bar Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee in the Eleventh Circuit, as Vice Chair of the Membership Committee and on the Executive Council of the Florida Bar Business Law Section.
